Soccer Field Perimeter Netting and Barrier Nets

Soccer field perimeter netting encloses the boundaries of a playing field to keep balls in the play area, protect spectators along the sidelines and end lines, and contain play during matches and training sessions. This is the most common large-scale soccer netting application for parks, recreational complexes, schools, and professional training facilities.

Our soccer field barrier netting is available as full perimeter enclosures or as individual panel sections for sidelines, end lines, or partial field coverage. Panel heights typically range from 10 to 20 feet for sideline protection and 15 to 30 feet for end line backstop sections. For facilities with seated spectators close to the touch lines, taller side netting panels provide the best protection.

All outdoor perimeter panels are manufactured from UV-treated polyester and are available with rope, web, or vinyl border binding. Learn more about our full range of netting types and materials.. Black is the standard color for outdoor installations as it maintains its appearance longer and reduces visual interference for players and spectators. White is available for indoor facilities.

We also supply soccer fence netting — panels designed to extend the height of an existing fence along a field boundary. These attach to the top of chain-link, wood, or metal fence lines using standard hardware and add meaningful height to a perimeter that would otherwise allow balls to clear it regularly.

Indoor Soccer Netting

Indoor soccer facilities have specific netting requirements that differ from outdoor fields. Ceiling clearance, structural attachment points, and the need for net systems that fold or retract when the space is used for other activities all factor into the right specification for an indoor installation.

West Coast Netting supplies indoor soccer netting for sports facilities, recreation centers, school gymnasiums, and multi-use athletic complexes. Our indoor panels are available in white and black, with lightweight K18 construction for ceiling-mounted divider nets and heavier K36 options for goal backstop and perimeter applications where impact loads are higher.

For multi-sport facilities that need to divide a large floor area into multiple playing surfaces, we build custom divider net panels in any dimension with attachment hardware appropriate for cable systems, beam-mounted tracks, or fixed structural frames. If your facility needs a net that retracts to the ceiling when not in use, contact our team to discuss the right panel construction and hardware for your setup.

Soccer Netting FAQs

What mesh size is used for soccer netting?

Soccer goal and backstop netting is typically constructed with 4-inch square mesh. Perimeter and barrier netting commonly uses a smaller mesh to better contain the ball and limit visual interference for players and spectators.

What's the difference between indoor and outdoor soccer netting?

Outdoor netting is manufactured from UV-treated polyester to withstand sun and weather exposure, and is typically black to reduce glare and maintain appearance over time. Indoor netting doesn't require UV treatment and is available in white or black to match facility lighting and aesthetics.

How tall should soccer perimeter netting be?

Sideline panels typically range from 10 to 20 feet, while end line backstop sections range from 15 to 30 feet. Facilities with seated spectators close to the touch lines should use taller side netting for added protection.

Can soccer netting be added to an existing fence?

Yes. Soccer fence netting panels attach to the top of chain-link, wood, or metal fence lines using standard hardware to extend fence height and reduce balls clearing the perimeter.
